GMA may have outdone ABS-CBN when it comes to having the biggest TV screens in their election broadcast, but the Lopez network trounched the Gozon-led broadcast outfit for conducting the quicker quick count, causing a GMA big-wig to fret that ABS-CBN is reporting bigger numbers.
As of 11:38 am of May 15, GMA counted 986,111 votes for the top senatorial candidate, Francis Escudero. Over at ABS-CBN, Escudero was running at 1,472,885 votes as of 1:03 pm.
Does this mean STI, ABS-CBN's quick count partner, has faster computers than GMA's partner AMA? It's a war between the two giant networks but also a battle between the rival computer schools, whose franchises are mushrooming all over the country like Jollibee fastfood restaurants. Whether this translates to enrolment this school year is another thing.
